The apparatus which were involved in the training was Tower 3, Engine 31, Engine 32, Utility 3A, and ALS Unit 36. Here Tower 3 is being stabilized for usage.

Hood Event, Kendall

In my senior year of high school, I created my own greeting card line, Wet Nose Greetings. In the past few years the business has grown to be featured by Oprah's Magazine, O, in her favorite things in her Christmas issue, and to be sold in over 70 stores across the country, including 14 Whole Foods across the East coast.

We service the stores personally whenever the stores need more cards to sell. This week we switched out all of the Valentines day cards to spring, Easter, and generic cards.

Almost every season and holiday is exhibited in the card line including this card which is designed for the Easter season.

The card racks can be found in Whole Foods in the areas including, Columbia and Rockville, MD, Georgetown and Foggy Bottom in D.C. and even as far as Louisville, KY.

Every Whole Foods run always ends with a trip to the bakery department for a little treat before we head home for the night. The trips that we make normally last all day long so the sugar is very needed to make it through the day.

Portraits, Kendall

Katie Harmis recently finished out her education at Hood College and is awaiting her graduation in May. She enjoys photography, animals, and most importantly Disney. I have known Katie since we were one and a half years old, she is the closet thing I have to a sister.

This picture was taken on the dirt road beside my house. We have made many memories on this road. When we were younger we would take walks with our moms almost every week up and down the lane.
Tea has been a very important part of our friendship. Ever since we were little we would have tea parties every now and then and we go to tea houses every year with our moms to celebrate our birthdays.
Katie regularly practices Yoga. It is one of her passions and for years she has been trying to get me to practice and every now and then she succeeds and it always makes her very happy.
Knowing Katie as long as I have, I have learned that it is not easy to get Katie to smile, especially in pictures. Because of this, this picture is very special to me because I got her to laugh enough to make her smile long enough to take this picture. This picture was taken on the swing set that we used to play in when we were little.
Katie loves her animals, her dog Coco, pictured here is a little ball of love. Katie also has a cat, KJ, who has more nicknames then any other animal I have ever met. KJ is her pride and joy. Katie recently lost both of her Australian Shepherds who she grew up with, Cassie and Abbie, so Coco and KJ are even more special to her now.

Campus Life, Kendall

Student life as a commuter on hood campus is very different from those who live on campus. The sights and experiences are much different. Seeing the sunrise or sunset while driving to campus is always a welcome sight.
Melissa Dryman patiently works on her graphics design homework in her Graphics Design III class.
Dedicated to his education, Tyler Royer writes notes for his class.
While there is parking throughout campus, there is not as many which would be preferred, but a space can always be acquired.
A gazebo can be found in the center of Hood College where students walk through daily and will meet up.

First Event, Kendall

West Friendship Volunteer Fire Department members practicing blind drills for navigation in a fire.  The firefighters went through the drills in full gear and with their vision impaired by hoods covering their masks.
Firefighters Christopher Mohns and Ryan Hassan simulate drawing through windows during the drills.  Contact must be made at all times between the two firefighters or else they will fail the drill.
Firefighters Josh Dillon and Thomas Saitta prepare to begin their drills with the help of FF/EMT Sarah Copeland and Lieutenant Gary Phillips.
Firefighters Dillon and Saitta go through the course that simulated a house structure followed by LT Phillips who joined them in participating in the drill.
Firefighters Dillon, Sagitta, and LT Phillips finish up their training drill successfully.
