William Klein

William Klein is a New York street photographer, who also did a lot of high fashion work and journalism. He was born in 1928 and still practices photography today. He enjoys the quick-pase lifestyle of New Yorkers because he "goes unnoticed". He used the rule of thirds and wide angle lens to capture a moment with as much movement, detail, and people he could. A lot of people say he photos feel like a a shot from a movie scene. Much of his work can be seen featured in MOMA and Vogue magazine. His magazine shoots were different than most at the time, he used props, bodies that were not typically seen in the magazine, and creative poses that made his work stand out. Many of the models he captured recalled being so tired and some event accidentally hurting themselves from the poses he made them stand in. He continued his work by making films about New York and Muhammad Ali. Today, he still can be found in the streets of New York, taking photo's of his old neighborhood and in barbershops taking portraits. He is a quirky and feisty older man with a great sense of humor.
