First Event, Buford

Professor Tamelyn Tucker-Worgs introduces speaker C. Nicole Mason at Mason's MLK Day lecture  "Who Are We Now?"  in Whitaker Campus Center on Jan. 21, 2019. The lecture wrapped up a a full day of Hood College events to commemorate the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.

C. Nicole Mason addresses a crowd of Hood students, faculty and community members on Jan. 21, 2019 in Hood's Whitaker Campus Center. Mason discussed her book, "Born Bright: A Young Girl's Journey from Nothing to Something," and the modern implications of MLK's legacy.   
Students and faculty, including Hood College President Andrea Chapdelaine,  listen attentively at Hood's MLK Day Lecture in Hood College Whitaker Camus Center on Jan. 21, 2019. After the lecture, attendees were given the opportunity to ask questions and make comments for the crowd and speaker to discuss.

Hood College junior Paul Downs Jr. addresses the crowd after Hood's MLK Day Lecture on Jan. 21 in Whitaker Campus Center. Downs discussed the issues and feelings some black students face as members of predominantly white institutions like Hood.
