Portraits, Garvis

Dani Casey, a sophomore at Hood College, puts on her old softball catcher's gear. At the start of her freshman season, Dani re-injured her spine and was unable to continue to play softball.

Dani Casey suffers from a spinal condition called Scheuermann's disease that affects the curvature of her spine. She wears a specialized back brace in order to manage the pain that the condition causes.

A closer photo at Dani's back tattoo. Her favorite flowers are sunflowers and she's a Leo, which the lion is a symbol of.

Dani Casey has a love of creating dramatic looks with her eye makeup.

Dani Casey sits on third base with a softball glove on her left hand. Third base was another position that Dani played during her time on the Hood College softball team.
